Kilkenny is a delightful medieval city, famous for its Norman castle and narrow streets lined with unique, independent shops offering ceramics, paintings, and jewellery.
Our school, Kilkenny College, is the largest boarding school in Ireland. Set in a peaceful countryside location, it’s just a short trip from the city and boasts first-class sports facilities.

FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION
Study Trip in Ireland: Kilkenny
Students will stay in shared rooms (2-6 beds) with shared bathrooms. Or, students over the age of 14 can opt to stay with a host family with an Italian or international classmate. Host families typically live within walking distance of the school; if further away, they’ll provide transport to and from the college.
Meals in College: Full board, with all meals provided on-site.
Meals with Host Family: Breakfast and dinner at home; lunch provided at the college.
ENGLISH COURSE
Study Course in Kilkenny: Overview
Students will take part in 18 hours of lessons each week, split into 15 hours of General English and 3 hours of interactive STEAM workshops. These workshops cover Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths.
All teachers are fully qualified to teach English as a foreign language. Classes are formed based on a placement test taken at the beginning of the course, ensuring each student is placed in an appropriate class for their proficiency level.
The school will provide study materials, and a certificate of attendance will be awarded to all students upon course completion.

Full-Day Trips:
- A day in Dublin, with a walking tour and entry to the Dublinia Viking Experience.
- A visit to Limerick, featuring a walking tour and entry to the International Rugby Experience.
- A day exploring the Dublin area, with private transport and staff (no entry fees included).
Half-Day City Outings:
- 2 trips with private transport and staff (entry fees included).
- 2 trips with public transport and staff (entry fees not included).
On-Campus Fun:
- 4 half-day activities, including sports, ABC’s of Vlogging, and an Interactive Drama Workshop.
Evenings:
- If you’re staying in the college, all evenings are packed with fun, like discos, Irish music and dance nights, sports tournaments, movie nights, and more.
- Host family guests will spend some evenings relaxing with their host families.
