Winchester was founded by the Romans as Venta Belgarum, and was the capital of the Kingdom of Wessex during the Middle Ages. It later became the capital of England until 1055, when William the Conqueror moved the capital to London.
Winchester’s Gothic, Romanesque Cathedral is one of the largest in Europe (170cm), and is one of the oldest in the UK. The first church was built in 648AD, but the structure we recognise today was built in 1079. It is said to have housed the tomb of King Arthur, if you believe the legend!
L’astrolabio’s school, Spartsholt College, is nestled in the Hampshire countryside, only 110km from London.
Students will stay in double rooms with private bathrooms.
Meals are provided on a full-board basis in the college dining hall, and packed lunches will be provided for full-day excursions included in the program.
Students will attend 15 hours of English lessons per week in the General English Course. Students aged 14 and older with a minimum English proficiency level of B1 can opt for the World of Work Course instead of the General Course.
They can also opt to take the online Trinity GESE Exam.
All teachers are fully qualified to teach English as a foreign language. Classes are formed based on a placement test taken at the beginning of the course, ensuring each student is placed in an appropriate class for their proficiency level.
Study materials are provided by the school, along with a certificate of attendance upon course completion.

The school staff will organise free time with a variety of activities such as Quiz Nights, Karaoke, Disco, and much more!
